Our farm classroom

In the Winter of 2024-2025 we converted the old calving shed into a new purpose built classroom, to give us a space where we could engage with adults and children of all ages and backgrounds about the work we are doing on the farm.

Our farm classroom provides the local community - both adults, school aged children and teens, with a space where they can feel empowered with the skills and resources needed to drive a positive shift in our collective relationship with food, nature clothing and the land.

As a Beacon Farm working with The Sustainable Food Trust and The Harmony Project, we offer free farm visits to local schools who want curriculum-linked educational trips that connect their pupils to healthy food and healthy nature.
Find out more about our access for primary schools here.

Our 'Fashion as a force for nature' workshop is helping to inform the next generation of designers the importance of natural materials such as leather, wool and botanical dyes, versus the synthetic alternatives which are almost always plastic based and have a negative impact on the environment. It is re-imagining fashion education, by connecting students to the farming systems where fibres are produced, and offers new approaches to cradle-to-cradle design thinking to local schools and colleges looking for sustainability education for textile design and heritage crafts.
